The order, effective at 9:00 PM ET Saturday March 21, 2020, also prohibits gatherings and asks individuals to practice social distancing. As such, the ICMC will suspend all prayers at our Masjid until further notice.

Please adhere to these instructions and stay safe along with your families.

We ask Allah (swt) to keep all of our community safe and healthy during these trying times.

ICMC Statement on COVID-19 – Updated March 20, 2020
Assalamu Alaykum Brothers and Sisters of ICMC Family,

The global spread of COVID-19, the coronavirus has become a focus of attention and concern for all of us. As the global effect of coronavirus continues to evolve many in the tri-state area Mosques and various experts in a multitude of fields have provided an outlook for the near future.
ICMC board members are working together for ongoing viable solutions to assist the community. ICMC has taken measures to disinfect the Masjid and we are firmly committed to the health and safety of our congregates, employees and most importantly our community. We are closely monitoring the rapid changing situation and complying with the local and statewide public health guidance. Please note that our ICMC Medical Clinic will be open Friday and Sunday but we have closed all other activities and Jumma prayers until further notice.

ICMC community we are all bracing for the economic tremors and aftershocks which will inevitably strike due to short-term layoffs, unpaid sick leave, etc. ICMC is requesting everyone during these difficult times to reach out to loved ones, neighbors, particularly the elderly and the vulnerable, and provide them a voice of reassurance and calm. We need to keep asking ourselves, “how do we change a negative situation into something uplifting”.
Even though we are maintaining a social distancing, the Muslim community is united. Let us uplift those who are down and create a sense of belonging to the vulnerable and lonely. Let us do all we can to support our brothers and sisters and our community at large during these difficult times.

Our Prophet (saw) said, “Verily, the believers are like a structure, each part strengthening the other,” and the Prophet clasped his fingers together. [al-Bukhari]
This hadith highlights the importance of supporting one another during times of need willingly and sincerely. It is in these times that Allah (swt) has commanded us to help those who are in desperate need.
We strongly encourage our local community to practice social distancing and recommend everyone to visit the CDC website. They provide a wealth of information with appropriate steps for individuals to take in order to stop the spread of the virus. May Allah (swt) allow us to unite in goodness, love and generosity. May He allow us to enlighten those in desperate need with hope and may He maintain love in the bonds we have within our kinship and brotherhood.
